Balu Kids is a Montessori children's center near Ubud, Bali. We offer daycare for ages 2–3, kindergarten and pre-school for ages 3–6, and an English-language Primary Education Program for ages 6–10.

Safety and care come first
Safety and emotional well-being are the frame everything else sits in — the environment, the routines and the way adults speak to children.
English, even if your child speaks none yet
Every class is in English. Because many of our children are not native speakers, the programme is adapted so they can follow and understand without stress. Indonesian is taught alongside it.
Qualified, and still learning
Our educators hold higher education degrees and have years of experience behind them. They take regular further training to keep developing professionally.
An individual approach
We follow each child’s emotional and psychological state, not a fixed curriculum pace. Educators observe first and offer second.
A smooth adaptation
Settling in is planned with parents and adjusted as we go, so a child never has to manage the transition alone.
Food that is genuinely good
Farm-fresh produce, our own baked whole-grain bread, and dairy-free, gluten-free and sugar-free options as the norm.
A deep connection with nature
Outdoor areas are built from stone, grass, sand and wood, so children’s senses have something real to work with.
Movement every morning
Children’s yoga, morning exercises and handstands wake body and mind before the day’s work begins.
A multicultural community
Families come from many countries. Children grow up treating difference as ordinary.
The rhythm of the day
The order is always the same, which is what makes it feel safe. Exact times depend on the group — ask us for the current schedule.

- Second breakfastA second breakfast follows the morning movement — for example eggs, pancakes or banana tofu.
- Montessori work cycleChildren choose their work from the prepared environment and stay with it.
- ClassesFor ages 2–6: emotional reading and stories, pianica, Bahasa Indonesia, cooking and dancing.
- LunchA cooked meal prepared on site, with our own whole-grain bread.
- NapA proper daytime nap in our nap room.
- Outdoor playTime on the natural playground — stone, grass, sand and wood.
- Extra classesChildren in the Primary Education Program can join swimming and chess, and stay on for the afternoon program until 16:45.
- HomePick-up by parents or, if you use it, our minibus, plus a written report of the day.
You do not need to pack a lunchbox
- Lunch is served buffet-style, so children see the different dishes and gradually learn to choose for themselves.
- Meals combine whole-food carbohydrates, vegetables, quality proteins and healthy fats. Vegetables are offered both fresh and steamed.
- We bake our own nutrient-rich bread using soaked chickpeas and lentils, flax, sunflower and chia seeds.
- Chicken and eggs come from a free-range, halal farm. Dairy-free, gluten-free and sugar-free options are prioritised.
- Many dishes are oven-cooked rather than heavily fried, and we serve Cleo drinking water rather than a cheaper alternative.
- A second breakfast follows the morning exercises — for example eggs, pancakes or banana tofu.
- Children take part in cooking lessons and learn why the food on their plate is what it is.

Near Ubud, in the green belt
Our campus is at Br. Sumampan, Kemenuh, Sukawati, Gianyar Regency, Bali 80582 — about 30 minutes by car from central Ubud. That distance is what buys the space, the gardens and the quiet. Many families live in and around Ubud, so we offer an optional minibus transfer that collects children and brings them home again.
